Wrote about some Tips for THE vacation: ✨Switzerland✨ previously... and I'm excited to share about the different cities we went in detail!
My husband and I travelled to Lucerne from the Zurich airport, dropped off our luggage at the airbnb and went to explore since we reached in the morning.
✨DAY 1: MOUNT RIGI✨
- Took a boat from Lucerne pier to Vitznau: we were super mesmerized by the views on the boat already tbh because the lake and skies are SO CLEAR AND BLUE like straight up from some anime ahdjjfjagsjk
- Then we took a cogwheel train from Vitznau up to Mount Rigi: again the views were so amazing and I'm super impressed by the cogwheel like WHO DECIDED TO BUILD A TRAIN UP A MOUNTAIN HAHA (pls just hold on tight cuz it's a slanted train)
- There's nothing much to do on the mountain which is a good thing: we just soaked in the beautiful views and phew it feels so peaceful
- Only regret was we left our sunblock in our luggage and we had sunburned faces for the rest of our trip🔥 so yes pls prep your sunblock!!
✨DAY 2: MOUNT PILATUS✨
- Took another boat ride from Lucerne pier to Mount Pilatus pier, then took a cogwheel train up. Fun fact: it's the world's steepest cogwheel railway so quite an experience
- Views from Pilatus was quite different from rigi (more mountains than greens), but nice also! it's much higher so it was chilly/windy
- there are a few hiking trails but we didn't go very far as it was getting foggy
- We packed food up to save $$ but just note that if you're eating outside, there are some mountain birds who would be eyeing the food 😭 I freaked out and went indoors HAHA
❣️Toboggan run
- As part of the mount pilatus round trip, we stopped by a toboggan run place that was amazinggg. I think we queued for 45 min, it's worth it if you've never been on toboggans in Switzerland. The views were WOW and it was more thrilling than I thought
- Pretty affordable at $15 sgd per ride
- You can store your belongings in a free locker and rent a phone holder thingy (free) to hang around your neck so that you can video your ride.
- Be careful not to go too fast though and be alert, there's no safety belt or anything, so I saw some reviews said that people flew out???!
❣️Chapel bridge
- Considered to be Europe's oldest covered bridge, built in 14th century
- Tbh nothing to do there, but just enjoy the views hehe
That's all for our Lucerne trip... next up will be my fav area (guess where hehe) ✨
