I didn't expect these costs for my wedding🥲

Finally a graduated bride and would like to say WHEWWW. So many things that I've learnt from this life project...and watching my money flowing out is no joke??? There are some things I didn't expect to spend on so here's my 20/20 hindsight - hopefully you'll pick up a thing or two.

1⃣[BEAUTY SERVICES]💆‍♀️

- I think I really went overboard on this as I was like 'I need to look pretty for my big day!!'

- I went on a facial spree 3 months before wedding (good thing is I only went for the first trials so it was still manageable)

- My most unworth cost was probably signing up for a 3 session fat freeze package (ha 临时抱佛脚at its best) --> thought maybe I'll lose 1-2 inches on my waist but I didn't see any significant results (other than like 400g lighter) 🤡 My heart still pain from paying the instalment 🥲

- Also went on a diode hair removal for my full arms and legs (which I think...I could have just done normal shave on my own haha)

TIPS‼️

✨Start wedding prep earlier or avoid thinking you have many time left! I could have settled many stuff earlier e.g GDL, gatecrash, decor, which would have given me more time and energy to keep myself fit and stress-free!

✨Do what you enjoy! (not bc you get pressured by society or by some salespersons who btw love to jump at us BTBs bc of the potential profit --> RUN if you meet them!)

✨ Use fave vouchers or first trials but read reviews so you won't meet any hard selling salesperson

✨ it's great to pamper yourself but remember that confidence is the best beauty tip (don't lose sleep just bc you are worried that you are not pretty enough or not doing enough to look good for your big day)

2⃣ [BONDING TIME FOR BRIDESMAIDS AND GROOMSMEN]💃🕺

- Didn't take into account that the bridesmaids and groomsmen would need to get to know one another better (for better coordination on actual day, so they not so shy shy)

- We decided to host a get-together at Mind Cafe (no regrets cuz we had fun and I think they were really more comfortable to mix around on the actual day) but yepp this was an expense I didn't expect to spend on earlier in my planning

TIPS‼️

✨You will know your bridesmaids and groomsmen the best, so it's up to you to decide the type of 'bonding activity'

✨ Can consider lower cost activities e.g. organise pot luck instead of eating out

3⃣[SISTERS' AND MUM'S MAKE-UP]💄

- Ok I didn't know how expensive this can be???? there's morning surcharge and transport fee so it easily hits $200 for each person

‼️TIPS

- If your bridesmaids and mum know how to do makeup, then great!!

- Otherwise, I think it's good to hire a professional to bring out certain features (e.g. make eyes bigger) and have longer lasting make-up

- Idk how I can save on this other than maybe having more research and comparisons

- BUT it's an important occasion for them so I'm really happy to see them all dolled up and feeling/looking beautiful🥺

#BeReal I think the wedding planning brings out the people-pleaser me + insecurities about my appearance. It's important to remind myself that I am enough and great the way I am - am very fortunate that my partner constantly reassures me too💕
