micro braid (to locs) extensions

started my loc journey 1/13/24

i’ve had 3 reties since then, it’s been so freeing. I had been a loose natural with little to not heat for about 4 years prior to this and for the first two years I did a lot of protective styles. I had done 3 (in total) big chops, ranging from just chopping the ends to buzzing my hair off twice, then turned to doing a curly hair routine and getting into products and what not. That got tiring, wetting my hair every morning to get it to cooperate and constantly moisturizing it. Now i moisturize my scalp weekly and wash every 2 weeks. My hair has been flourishing and growing so much since then, i know locs help retain length due to any hair loss being contained in the loc but even without that the hair that comes in 6 weeks in between retries has been significant and nice. I think when my hair was loose my ends were constantly breaking so i was never retaining any length due to breakage. I am so excited to see where i am after my hairs’ fully loc’d and i cut my extensions off in 2 years
