Is Apple Pen worth it or should I buy a dupe？

I recently purchased a new iPad. I was intending to buy an Apple Pencil to accompany it (3rd gen), but I was wondering whether I should just opt for dupes in online stores. I mainly use the pencil for highlighting and writing.

I would like to learn drawing on the iPad, but it's not really a main priority and I'm not sure if I'll really get into it. What are some good and cheaper alternatives worth trying?
