Malaysian Souvenirs: Just Buy Them and You're Competed 🇲🇾

Essential souvenirs for travel. I went to Malaysia earlier this year, traveling through "Kota Kinabalu - Penang - Kuala Lumpur." Because of the flights and train rides in between ✈️🚄, all the items in the pictures were bought at the KLCC Mall under the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur! I compared many stores and felt that the cost-performance ratio was moderate. Here’s a priority list of what I bought:

✨Tips📍: For friends traveling to Malaysia, you can book hotels and tickets on Azgo ✈️🚪, which is cheaper with this referral code: [LEMON8] here!

Beryl’s Chocolate 🍫: Malaysia is in the tropics and produces a lot of cocoa, making chocolate a suitable souvenir for all ages. Beryl’s is said to be a national treasure brand, and it does taste quite good. The most famous flavor is Tiramisu, with almond filling. The black packaging is dark chocolate, and the white packaging is white chocolate. Each piece is individually wrapped. Online, people recommend the white bag as the best, but I found it a bit too sweet; I prefer the dark chocolate. There are also small boxes of strawberry 🍓 and matcha 🍵 flavors—just check the pictures on the packaging. I also bought some with the Twin Towers pattern as gifts; they have almond filling too.

White Coffee ☕: South Asian coffee is also a tropical specialty and white coffee is a Malaysian trademark. I fell in love with white coffee in Penang. The Old Town brand is the most famous and popular. It has no sour or bitter taste and a unique milky flavor that is truly addictive.

Teh Tarik 🥤: Traditional Malaysian milk tea, a national beverage, with a rich, smooth taste. I didn’t drink enough of it in Malaysia. BOH is a popular Brand, with single-serving packets of milk tea powder, great for sharing and trying.

Bak Kut Teh Spice Pack 🍖: Unlike Singapore, Malaysian Bak Kut Teh has a strong medicinal flavor. Everyone recommends the A1 brand, but I didn’t find it, so I bought other brands. The flavor made at home wasn’t too bad.

BOH TEA Tea Bags 🍃: Bagged tea from the Cameron Highlands. It tastes similar to brands like Twinings but is cheaper, has exquisite packaging, and is lightweight, making it a good gift choice.

Cardamom 🫘: A Penang specialty there a Mandarin-speaking taxi driver told me about. I had cardamom water locally, which was quite nice. Northern folks may not be familiar with it, so I brought some back for my family to try. There are also cardamom oil products, similar to cooling oil.

Dried Durian: Fresh durian is hard to bring into the country, so I bought some freeze-dried durian as a gift.

Milo: I liked it locally; it has a flavor reminiscent of Nestlé's Milo, which isn't available in China anymore, so I brought some back to continue enjoying.
