Dying your hair blonde go badly??!

I had dark brown hair and I dyed my hair blonde and ask the lady at sally to help and it completely messed up my hair and did not go the way she told me it would so I asked a friend and she told me she used box dye?!, I went to the store and got some boxes and then it was yellow and orange tones and so I got ash blonde bondbar dye from sally and I used a 20 but it didn’t do a good job so I redid it with a lvl 30 and it turned out great!!
