Here are my biggest tips as a 4.0 college student!

Sticky notes:

I absolutely LOVE sticky notes! I mainly use them to create checklists. For example, when preparing for an exam, I break down every topic into manageable chunks and make a checklist for each one. As I study, I cross off each topic, which gives me a sense of accomplishment and helps me stay organized. When exams are approaching, I make a specific checklist of the weak points I need to revisit. You can even create daily assignment checklists to stay on top of everything. Trust me, checklists are essential for staying productive and organized! Plus, the satisfaction of crossing things off is unbeatable. ✅

The two notebook system:

This method has been a game-changer for me! Keep one notebook as your main study notebook, where you take organized and neat notes as you study. Use a second notebook for class notes—this one doesn’t need to be perfect, it’s more of a place to quickly jot down ideas or key points during lectures. After class, I transfer any important notes from my class notebook into my main notebook. This keeps my primary notebook neat and organized, and I can easily review my study material later without being distracted by messy class notes.

Avoid aesthetic notes:

We've all seen those picture-perfect study notes on Pinterest and Etsy, but trust me, spending too much time trying to make your notes look aesthetic can be a huge waste of time. Instead, focus on content first! Colorful pens and highlighters are great for emphasizing key points, but don’t stress over making everything look perfect while you’re actively learning. If you really want aesthetic notes, save that for later when you have extra time, and rewrite them from your main notebook. Just make sure it doesn't become your priority—functionality always trumps aesthetics when it comes to studying!

Boost Your Listening and Speaking:

Accurately understanding your professor's explanations and confidently expressing your own thoughts not only helps you feel more engaged but also allows you to absorb knowledge more effectively! A little trick I discovered is using an app like Hibay to improve my listening and speaking skills. I spend just a few minutes each day listening to 100 curated clips from popular TikTok and TED videos. Plus, Hibay’s learning process is super effective—it goes from blind listening to sentence-by-sentence analysis, slow prompts, and result verification. My listening and speaking skills have improved significantly, and as a result, my grades have gotten better, and my professors like me more!

By combining these study techniques with tools like Hibay, you’ll not only stay organized but also improve your communication skills and overall academic performance!
