my expenses (a mini journal entry)

I am a FnB worker for 2 years now and here is a breakdown of my expenses with $1.6k salary after cpf: (by monthly basis)

Food: $300 - $350

Transport: $100

Shopping: $0 - $100

Parents: $500

Medical/Health: $400 - $700

Total: $1300 - $1750

Family of 4 earnings:

My parents: 2k

My Sister: 2.5k

Me: 1.6k

OTHER FAMILY EXPENSES

Nursing home (For grandfather): 2k

Grandmother + helper: 1.5k

The truth is many jobs requires a young person look "decent". The fact that I have never been pretty since young means that finding a job has always been really difficult.

As you can see from my expenses, I am living paycheck to paycheck every month. And losing jobs due to toxic work environment is really difficult in SG as the process can take up to 2 months or even longer.

I used to think I will be able to save up enough to buy a house by 35. However, I am uncertain of how that will come true with property prices being so high and unaffordable.
