Acne Journey

Since I started puberty all I can remember was having acne. I battled with it for years having small break outs and dry skin. The beginning of my senior year was when the big clusters of bumps started to pop up, which are shown in the pictures.

I remember being so self conscious and insecure because I would have to go to school with my acne exposed. I was also so scared to wear makeup because I was afraid it would inflame the breakouts even more.

No cleansers or drug store treatments were working and I felt helpless because no matter what I did the breakouts wouldn’t go away.

I finally told my mom I had to go see a dermatologist to see if I could get it taken care of. The experience at the dermatologist was wonderful for me as we found a medicine that I would take orally curing the bacteria from the inside out. I was also prescribed with a gel and a cream that I would apply every day and at night.

I just wanted to make this post because I want people to know that they are not alone and normal skin is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I wish I had seen a post like this when I was going through my journey and with that I hope I can be that for one of you!💖
