I've been in the book publishing industry for 3 years now and there are actually a few publishers who outsource work to freelancers. Especially if their own staff don't have the time or skills to do so 👀

Working as an editor, I personally work with freelancers on a daily basis. From translators, editors, layout artists, graphic artists, illustrators and proofreaders. Sometimes I do allocate work to in house colleagues but most of the time I outsource to freelancers. They are honestly such a big help for me because it's like I have my own team but everyone works remotely 🙌🏻
