✨5 Toys for Speech Development

There are so many amazing toys on the market that promote speech and language development, as well as gross and fine motor skills. Shoot, you can honestly use a lot of things that are already around your house with some creativity!

If I had to choose, these are my top 5 toys for speech development in littles:

1️⃣ Baby Dolls

Dolls make it easy to model actions, emotions, and practice activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, toileting, etc.)

2️⃣ Doctor Sets

I loveee these, especially for kiddos who may not be fond of going to the doctor. They allow families to role play and model positive interactions and help kids understand what to expect.

3️⃣ Car Sets

So many organic opportunities for speech!! Practicing sounds (beep-beep, vroom), positional words (up/down), and adjectives (fast/slow) come naturally when playing with cars.

4️⃣ Play Kitchens

Play kitchens are perfect for hours of fun with sequencing, identifying nouns and verbs (apple, cut) and modeling handwashing & mealtime manners.

5️⃣ Barn Sets

I love these little barns! Each barn has a different color, number, and animal. They’re also great for fine motor skills!
