DO NOT GO TO THIS LASH EXTENSION PLACE!! lost $20

i've always gone to home-based salons to do my lash extensions because the price is much better and the artists are usually a lot friendlier!! but this home-based salon is a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE.

so i booked a slot to do my lash extensions before my trip to Korea, but she last minute informed me on the day itself that she fell sick and can't do my extensions. totally understandable, right?

what's not understandable is what happened after. she refused to refund the $20 deposit i paid her to reserve my slot. she claims it's her T&Cs that deposits strictly cannot be refunded and that she's happy to allow one free reschedule for me. i got very confused and said i thought deposits were to protect the lash artist from customers cancelling at the last minute and causing the lash artist to lose out on income. but in this case, she's the one that cancelled, and in fact, caused me not to have lashes for my trip to Korea (it was too last minute to find any other places). i know most places would put in their T&Cs that deposit is non-refundable but for her to insist on it in such an unreasonable circumstance is ??? to me.

if she hadn't been so weirdly protective of that $20 (what cost was it to her?? she was sick in bed? i didn't cause her to lose out on anything????), i probably would've gone back to her when the time suits me and the occasion arose. but she was so unreasonable i have no interest in returning.

after a long back and forth she finally agreed to refund, but only half of my deposit.

so please note, if you patronise her, you risk forfeiting your deposit if SHE falls sick, unless you agree to do your lashes with her again within 2 months, regardless of whether you need it or not. or if you have the energy to do this, you might get $10 back. but if you ask me, just don't bother, keep your money and give it to another home-based that's way more worthy of your patronage.
