Mistakes I Made in Isla Mujeres, MX

Avoid making these mistakes on your trip to Isla Mujeres 👇👇

Being alone/unaware: I’ve never had so many creepy encounters with men as I did on this trip. Even when we were minding our own business, locals would harass us and make obscene gestures and expose themselves to us. Make sure ur always on alert!!

Driving a golf cart down a footpath: We thought this sidewalk was a road so we stopped for a picture, but the police came and they were VERY creepy and taking pictures and videos of us and threatening to give us a ticket. We were thankful to be let off with a warning but I was shaking afterwards

Isla Mujeres is a beautiful island, but not without its dark side. As a woman, you always have to be aware, but just be sure to stay on high alert if you travel here (or take a male travel companion)!
