Kitchen reno cost breakdown! Ways to save $$$

It’s common for the highest home reno cost to come from the kitchen. Here’s the cost breakdown for our kitchen, not inclusive of fittings and appliances:

Top hung cabinet: $140/ ft run for 7.5ft

Bottom cabinet: $100/ ft run for 13ft

Panaplast Moma countertop: $130/ft run and $15/ft for matching colour core for 13ft

Tiled backsplash: $700

Pull-out condiment rack $90

Laminate top for L-shaped partition wall: $320

Laminate cladding for L-shaped partition wall: $600

Hollow block L-shaped wall: $700

Cement screed walls for kitchen area: $900

Solid wood suspended counter from Lazada which we installed on our own: $220

Total 💸: under $7700

Ways we could have saved 💵 if we were not particular about aesthetics:

▪️Don’t cement screed the walls, retaining the HDB tiles on the kitchen walls.

▪️Retain the HDB tiles for the backsplash

▪️Use quartz for countertop instead

▪️Don’t clad the L-shaped partition wall with laminate. Tbh, it looked good without the cladding!

Do note prices are all from 2021 so they are for sure higher now.
