Romantic or Purist?

i’m still finishing up the series, but just finished “The Assassin’s Blade” which is the first in the purist order & fourth in the romantic.

personally, i love each book so far, but did not enjoy the order i chose to read it. everything still makes sense & whatnot, but without any spoilers the third book “Heir of Fire” WAS AMAZING & i just wanted to jump into the “Queen of Shadows” butttttt i chose the order i chose & had to read Assassin’s Blade. I enjoyed everything being clarified & the stories that she mentioned in the previous books are now told, but it felt like a filler episode (i have nothing against filler episodes, but in a book that’s supposed to be in the beginning after watching so much growth from the FMC was tough). as i was reading i kept telling myself “i should’ve read this first” because it truly didn’t change my perspective on anything. i still have four books left & MAYBE the order i chose will make sense while i finish the rest? but right now it felt like i had to watch Tenten & Neji restocking weapons all over again 😭
