WHY I CHANGED MY MIND ON HACKING A ROOM WALL 🙅🏻‍♀️

One question that a new homeowner always has in mind - SHOULD I HACK MY ROOM WALL?

🙇🏻‍♀️ Initially I was set on knocking a wall or half a wall, it was even in my “mood board” when I met my IDs. (See 2nd pic)

One option that I considered was to use one of the room as a home office and having a half-glass wall will allow me to watch my kids in the future and keep an eye on the living room space (…and also the TV 😅)

However, after much deliberation, we decided that it might not be a good choice for our house and our needs at the moment.

Why we decided against it (ie changed our mind about hacking):

▪️Usually the main reason for people to knock a wall down is to open up the living room space, but our ID was very confident that she could fit a sofa and a dining table in our living room without it being too squeeze! And she was right ☺️

▪️This is probably not going to be our forever home so knocking a wall down might be harder to sell in the future.

▪️Extra cost!! Phew, didn’t know it’s so expensive to knock down a wall. Not to forget the glass material and installation cost too! 😮‍💨

▪️One other reason why we wanted to knock was to bring more sunlight in, but tbh, our living room was super bright! 😅 we didn’t realise it until we had our keys.

▪️Having a room without glass might actually make your whole living space less cluttered too! And, you can learn to separate work from leisure! (Out of sight out of mind 🌝)
