Why I won't show my face on the internet

Believe it or not, I'm not insecure. Well I meanC there's always things you want to change about yourself, but I don't think I'm ugly. In fact, I really like the picture I chose for this cover. But I still don't want to show my face.

1. I value anonymity. On the internet, we find it too easy to overshare our entire lives. I'm hardly willing to share my name on most sites. In fact on all other social medias I don't have my name on them. I don't even have the same username as this site.

2. People on the internet are mean. I've seen the way people talk to other people and frankly I just don't want to take the chances. That's my face we're talking about. My fragile self esteem that I've worked so hard to build up would come crumbling down the second I get one negative comment on my face

3. I want my work to speak for itself. I've seen so many people use their face to speak for their work, when their work is actually subpar. I want my work to stand on its own. As you all may know, I'm a writer and I am writing a book. I don't want my book to be overshadowed by my face. Or worse, I don't want my face to make people not want my book.

This was probably a stupid post. Many people decide not to show their face on the internet, but I just wanted to put my two cents in.
