If you're ever traveling to Vietnam and they have a night market, never ever settle for the first price that they offer!!

Bargaining in Vietnam is a whole different ball game and here's why:

1. There's many stalls around that sells the same or similar items but at different price points

2. You got to walk around to compare prices

3. Must have the courage to bargain with the seller

4. The first price they offer is usually more than 3x the lowest price point which they can sell to you

5. It can take up to 30mins to settle on a price

6. It's a give-and-take process

7. Requires skills

I'm not really good at bargaining but learnt some tips and tricks from my bf and his family!!

🌟 TIPS FOR HOI AN NIGHT MARKET 🌟

- Walk further in to the night market as there are many other stalls selling the same stuff at a much cheaper pricing!

- Go to a few stalls to compare the price for the same item

- Estimate a price which you would like to settle for and try to settle within a +/-10% price range

- Start off with a price point lower ($50) than what you are willing to settle for ($80), as sellers will lower their selling price ($150) bit by bit instead of matching your first bargaining offer ($50) right away. Seller would reduce their price ($120), then your second offer can be increased a little (from $50 to $60), so on and so forth. You'd have more room to bargain if you start at a price lower than what you're willing to pay.

- You might need to act coquettishly (a little) or joke around, get on the seller's good side
