BOOK REVIEW: Magnolia Parks

Guys… I am onto the 3rd book in this series and I could not recommend it more. If you love beautiful, poetic writing, toxic love stories, dynamic characters , and just reading something that makes you feel all the emotions - please pick these books up. Jessa Hastings is without a doubt a favorite author of mine and I will be reading anything she writes.

SUMMARY:

This first book in the series is about Magnolia Parks and BJ Ballentine, childhood friends turned lovers. They were together for years until one night when everything changed. This one night started a chain reaction of the two of them hurting one another constantly to get back at the other. Their entire friend group along with the rest of London know they’re meant for each other, but they just can’t seem to get it right.

MY THOUGHTS:

♡ The main selling point of this book for me is Jessa Hastings’ writing. She is so talented, I can’t even tell you.

♡ It’s written in 2nd person, and at first, I thought this was going to be annoying, but I LOVED it. I’ve never read books like this, but it honestly made me feel so connected to the characters.

♡ I love the entire friend group that this book is centered around. They all grew up in boarding school together and have a really family-like bond because of it. It gives me major found family vibes, and I love that.

♡ The only reason this didn’t get 5 stars was because the characters just made me so mad. I just wasn’t the biggest fan of either of them and honestly had a hard time rooting for them because they were so toxic, however, now that I’m reading the 3rd book, I understand them a lot more. It makes this book make a lot of sense and I definitely appreciate it more.
