Recently, I tried a tester for Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair and kinda fell in love with it.πŸ™Š However, its quite pricey so I wanted to find if there was a dupe and my research led me to Missha's Time Revolution Night Repair Serum and another serum from Ma:nyo. I decided that I will try Missha since its the cheapest and compare it to the Estee Lauder ANR. 🀟 After I got my hands on both, I applied the Missha Ampoule on the right side of my face and Estee Lauder ANR on the left side of my face for 3 weeks at night (along side my usual skincare products). πŸ˜‚ Here are my findings! πŸ“£

πŸ§ͺ Ingredients check!

Estee Lauder ANR:

❎ Bad:

- Contains Oleth-3, Oleth-5 which are possible acne triggers

- A few ingredients has moderate ingredient safety warnings according to Skincarisma!

βœ… Good:

- Ferments like Bifida Ferment Lysate

- Hyaluronic acid

- Vitamin E

- Alpha-Bisabolol for brightening

- Has a bit of peptides

- Has some botanical extracts which help with skin healing and anti-aging

- Alcohol, Sulfate, Parabens, Mineral Oil free

Missha:

❎ Bad:

- Contains essential oil which might trigger sensitive skin and is not fungal acne safe πŸ™ƒ

βœ… Good:

- Ferments similar to ANR

- Hyaluronic Acid

- Adenosine, Vitamin E, Ceramide for anti-aging

- Niacinamide for brightening πŸ’«

- Also has natural extracts like eggplant, beetroot, radish, carrot and sugar cane! I also notice swiflet's nest extract (bird's nest) πŸ˜‚

- Alcohol, Sulfate, Parabens free

✨ First Impressions

Estee lauder ANR: Yellow-ish colour, thick consistency with slight scent. Herbal-ish, glue-ey scent but very subtle and not unpleasant. Absorbed quickly and not much sticky residue. Immediately hydrating feeling that left my face plump and glowy.

Missha: Same colour, consistency as ANR. Scent can be described as pleasant and botanical but less subtle than ANR and no glue-ey smell so it smells better than ANR (expected as it has essential oils which ANR doesn't) but not sure if its a good thing. Absorbed rather slowly compared to ANR. After its absorbed, the residue is oilier than ANR (gotta rub it a bit more to reduce the feeling) which isn't as pleasant. Feels equally hydrating and plump afterwards.

Next day, the feelings were also similar.

✨ 3 Weeks later

No obvious differences between the two but both seems to work well for me, giving me great hydration and a plump feeling. I also feel like my skin got better texture, more even tone and less acne. βœ… But I can't really tell if the anti-aging works unless I compare after using both on each side of my face for many years (which obviously I'm not gonna do πŸ˜‚). I also don't think they help with my oil production. πŸ₯² Also, Missha's opaque bottle makes it hard to see when the serum is running low, especially since the bottle itself is quite heavy. ANR has slightly more cosmetic elegance based on first impressions but overall, I'm not really sure if its worth the difference in price. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Context: My skin type is combination to oily skin, a little acne prone and has quite a lot of hyperpigmentation (both the redness kind and the darker tan areas kind).
