4 Ways to Style a White Button-down

A simple oversized white button down is such a staple and definitely a must-have in your capsule wardrobe! This one is my absolute favorite. I thrifted it at Goodwill for $1 a couple years back. It’s an XL men’s dress shirt and the quality is honestly amazing. Highly recommend going to your local thrift stores and checking out the men’s button down section for some of the best finds- it’s my favorite hack🙌🏼

Here, I styled it 4 different ways going from really casual slowly towards a more dressy look. Playing around with different bottoms/accessories can really change up/elevate a simple button down to make it one of your most used pieces.

You can also play around with different ways of buttoning/ticking the shirt.

- In the second look, I did a half tuck with the inner half of the shirt while leaving the other side out for some dimension

- For the third look, I did the viral TikTok hack where you button the very bottom button behind your back (only works if the shirt is pretty oversized) to give it the cropped look without it closing while moving/walking

- In the final look, I only buttoned the top 2 and left the rest open, giving it a much more high fashion/contemporary feel

Moral of the story- get yourself a good oversized white button down and you’ll have outfit options for DAYS!
