Day 3 of Falling back in love with life again

Today was kind of bleh. I worked this morning, babysat my nephews until this evening and then I came home and just felt like I wanted to just go to bed.

I made a promise to myself that I would try to end each day on a positive note, no matter how I was feeling. So I decided to make a big pot of Homemade Mac n’ Cheese (comfort food anyone?? 🤣) and save the rest for meals this weekend, if I don’t feel like cooking.

I’m the farthest thing from a chef and I don’t measure anything, but I’m sticking to my promise of doing something for me every day! So here are the photos from the meal.

This morning before I left for work I came across a reel that had a quote I’ve been thinking about all day.

“Don’t be the thermometer that takes the temperature of the room be the thermostat that sets the temperature.”

How many times do we walk in a room and “take the temperature?” Waiting to see how other people are feeling before we decide which “version” of ourselves is going to be at the forefront today? What if instead, we were the ones who set the “temperature?” The ones who decided what we were feeling, regardless of others emotions.

I’m going to make a dedicated effort this week to “set the temperature” instead of waiting to “read the room.” Let me know if you try, how it worked out??
