HOW TO CLAIM TRAVEL INSURANCE 💸💸💸

In my previous post, I talked about what to do when your luggage gets delayed. This time, I'm going to share how I managed to claim $600 from my travel insurance. This was the first time I’m claiming from travel insurance, so I honestly wasn’t sure if I was doing it right. But I got my money yesterday, so I decided to share this—I hope it helps someone! Do the steps below AFTER receiving your luggage.

1️⃣ Prepare Your Documents ✈️

Gather your flight details and all the supporting documents given by the airline. Screenshot all the emails that state the reason for the delay and the time you received the luggage, along with your departure and return flight details. See my previous post!

2️⃣ Submit Your Claim 📝

Go on Google and find the claims website for your travel insurance. Follow the instructions and submit your claims ASAP (or within 30 days). I did this on the day I received my luggage, which was 18 hours after the incident! I couldn’t wait!!!! 🤣

3️⃣ Check Claim Status 🔍

You should receive an acknowledgment email from your insurance company. After that just keep an eye on the status of your claim. Unlike medical claims, this is pretty straightforward, so I didn’t receive any email requesting more supporting documents!

4️⃣ Get Your Money 💸

Voila! Receive your claim amount!

Incident Date: 19 May

Reporting Date: 20 May

Claim Approved: 5 Jun

Claim Amount Received: 6 Jun

Simple as that! Here’s a reminder to never skip on your travel insurance!!
