❌ STOP buying clothes from TaoBao!

🧚‍♀️ Everyone loves a good deal, right? TaoBao is known THE best place to get everything you’d ever want for a much cheaper price.

😥 I used to spend >$100 each month on clothes, accessories and other cute things from TaoBao but now I couldn’t bother with any of it. Here’s why I stopped:

1. Quality 👎🏻

• All those cheap prices will never equate to good quality, EVER! Pictures online have been specially altered and don’t tell the truth about the material used

• Even spending more on better shops didn’t ever equate to quality clothing compared to what I could buy in Singapore

• All these led to hyper-fast fashion and excess waste where I wore dresses only once before hating how they looked and felt.

2. Not made for Singapore 🇸🇬

• With the seasonal weather in China, many clothes during the autumn and winter seasons aren’t relevant for the Singapore weather

• Clothing designs aren’t made for local tastes, nor local sizing

• As a working adult, the way I dressed changed drastically and I’ve since changed to purchase from local brands like Neonmello, Playdress, Topazette etc which suit me more

🌱 Even though I have personally stopped purchasing clothes from TaoBao, there are some merits:

• Great for students who have a low budget and go through micro-trends

• Great for experimenting with for fashion junkies
