Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus Book Review

I very rarely leave 5 star reviews… & but Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Grams deserves ALL the stars in my world. When I tell you I laughed, I cried, I felt ALL of the feelings… plus there’s a dog!

The story takes place in the 1960’s & follows a very strong willed & driven Chemist named Elizabeth Zott. The problem is… she is surrounded by a male dominated work place… in the 1960’s. Need I say more? The story follows Elizabeth’s life, while she tries to make a name for herself, & she somehow finds herself as the host of a very popular cooking show. But the more popular she becomes, the more backlash she gets because she isn’t just teaching women how to cook, she is daring them to change.

There is Romance, Heartbreak, Family & filled with characters that I was immediately invested in. Also, as a Mom, there were parts of the story that seriously made me cry from happiness, as well as understanding. 🥺

The writing is witty & fast-paced & I am so sad that it’s over.

Fingers Crossed that this becomes a movie/show one day… I would love to see a real life Six-Thirty running around!
