Mixture
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 bottle stout
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tbsp gracefoodsusa Browning
1 med egg
1 cup brown sugar
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp mixed spice
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 pound(s) mixed peel
1/4 pound(s) raisins, soaked (in wrayandnephewus rum optional)😉
Glaze
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp strawberry jam
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your loaf pan/s with butter/oil of your choice set aside.
Melt the butter and cool.
In a large bowl, add butter the stout, browning, brown sugar, vanilla extract and the beaten egg and mix together until the sugar is dissolved.
In another bowl, add all the dry ingredients and whisk them together.
Add the raisins and mixed peel to the liquid ingredients and mix together.
Combine the liquid mixture with the dry ingredients and mix, until combined thoroughly.
Pour the batter into prepared loaf pan
Bake for an hr.
Once baked, remove from the oven, brush with glaze and allow it/them sit on a cooling rack.
Serve with cheese and enjoy!
