A Jumping spider is my gatekeeper??

The other day my boyfriend and I were going to town because he was picking up a part to fix his truck. We live in the Rez along the road so we have a cattleguard.

I’m usually the one that opens and closes the gate because people like to trespass onto our property🙃 anywhooo… It was our normal routine and suddenly I saw this orange dot🟠

I have a huge fear of spiders but not jumping spiders much. I’ve seen jumping spiders larger than this baby seen in the next slide who actually helped me fear them less.

Seeing this cutie completely distracted me and I was talking to it as if it could understand me😂 like telling him it’s dangerous to be in a spot like that. I attempted to actually take it and place it in a safer spot but it was more afraid of me. Since he’s so bright orange we decided to call him Orange Dreamsicle and he’s hired to be my gatekeeper😂 every now and then I see him where our chain hangs that keeps the gate open and closed.
