Protein waffles are one of my favorite things to make for breakfast, so I decided to take it up a notch and make a breakfast sandwich out of them! This is my first box of the protein mix from Trader Joe鈥檚 & I like it so far. To spice up the flavor, I add vanilla extract & blueberries.
Outside of Trader Joe鈥檚, I like using the Kodiak mixes which you can use as well for this recipe! You can also add different add ins like chocolate chips or other fruits if blueberries aren鈥檛 your thing. You can also sub the sausage for bacon as well. It鈥檚 a quick & simple recipe to make if you have a little free time in your mornings! Another tip is you can sub the liquid with a premier protein shake to add more flavor & protein. Here鈥檚 the recipe:
Ingredients:
馃Protein pancake/waffle mix
馃breakfast sausage (or bacon)
馃egg
馃cheese
馃珢blueberries
Instructions:
1. Follow the instructions on the waffle package to cook them. If preferred, you can skip adding blueberries, although they do enhance the flavor, in my opinion.
2. While the waffles are cooking, get your sausage and eggs ready. I recommend using maple sausage and seasoning your eggs with maple garlic for an extra delicious maple taste.
3. Put together your sandwich by layering the egg, sausage, and cheese. Enjoy!
