mottos I live by 🤝🏾

these last few years i’ve been really discovering myself as well as reinventing myself. i have so many little things i tell myself that help me, personally, live a life true to myself or help me be on the way to where i’d like to be. here’s a few 💖

1. who cares?

HAHA. as simple as it is, having this in the back of my mind has helped the shy quiet girl in me growing up, break out of her shell. i have unlocked a new level of confidence by just this motto alone. i used to be such a people pleaser with the way i looked, how i portrayed my friendships/ past relationships, what i wore, etc. especially when it came to sharing my life/content online and feeling “cringey.” but literally just asking myself who cares?! takes all the shame away. because fr who cares? who cares more than YOU do? & if they do.. that’s weird ✋🏽

2. just say yes.

i mostly relate this to when people ask me to do things. since covid started, i started working from home. i still do and it has made me such a homebody. but growing up, i was super spontaneous and down for anything. this last year i really struggled with my own mental health because i didn’t want to go out because i was always waiting for someone to go with me, or kind of just anxious in public. (i also live in a completely new town across the country with mostly long distance friends). so just saying yes to myself, and to any trip or coffee date is my motto this year so far..

3. i’m not broke i’m financially up and coming! 🙈

i’m trying to take specific words out of my vocabulary. in this case it’s “broke.” there’s always been food on my table, clothes on my back, and some to spend. but i always find myself jokingly saying things like “i’m broke” “crying in broke” and might i add… kind of always unprovoked 😭 lmfao. i truly believe where intention goes energy flows! so this is just me being mindful of that 🙇🏽‍♀️

4. you are not too old

who says you’re too old? i really think that the key to happiness as ab adult is living like a kid. and by that i mean doing things we loved as kids and/or healing our inner child. so next time you wanna do something, but think youre too old for this… just do it. im cheering for you ❤️🫵🏽🙌🏽 but also be safe 🙈

i’m 25 but plan on living by these till i’m 70+ 😝
