NYC Halloween activity: Great Jack O’lantern Blaze

Halloween is just around the corner and for me it signifies the start to all the other end of the year holidays and activities that I love so much. The Great Jack O'Lantern Blazer is a great way to kick start your holiday festivities! I went to the Long Island location and it was so much fun!

The exhibit takes place in an old 19th century village that still has some of the original buildings and barns. The immersive pumpkin trail features over 7,000 hand carved jack o'lanterns, an original soundtrack with synchronized lights, special effects, delicious fall treats and more. It's the perfect place for a family outing or a fun date night!

The exhibit runs from Sept 22-Nov 5 (Long Island) and Sept 15-Nov 19 (Hudson Valley). Tickets are $29 for adults, $28 for seniors (65+), $19 for children (3-17) and free for children 2 and under. Driving to the Long Island location takes about 1-1.5 hrs but if you don't have a car no worries! Here's how you can get there.

Long Island: Old Bethpage Village Restoration

Take the LIRR Port Jefferson or Ronkonkoma lines to Hicksville. Take a 15 min car or bus ride to Old Bethpage Village Restoration.

Hudson Valley: Van Cortlandt Manor

525 S Riverside Ave,

Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520

Take the metro north line from Grand Central terminal to Croton-Harmon station. Take a 5 min car ride or a 10 min walk to Van Cortlandt Manor.
