September Reads

September was definitely the slowest reading month I have had this year — with only 4 books (that were all actually pretty good reads).

My first read of the month was Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McQuire. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand. Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. If you liked the After series, you’d love this!

My next read was a 5⭐️ read! Final Girls by Riley Sager. Ten years ago, college student Quincy Carpenter went on vacation with five friends and came back alone, the only survivor of a horror movie-scale massacre. In an instant, she became a member of a club no one wants to belong to—a group of similar survivors known in the press as the Final Girls.

My third read was Don’t Let Her Stay by Nicola Sanders. Joanne & Richard are married with a new baby. Richard has a 20 year old daughter from a previous marriage, Chloe, who comes and stays with them while taking a break from school. Chloe is a nightmare and really acting like a pill to her new step-mom. But she's the perfect princess when daddy is around.

Last but not least, Layla by Colleen Hoover. Definitely my least favorite read of the month. I liked this book, but couldn’t bring myself to love it the way some do. In Layla, the male protagonist, Leeds, meets a ghost named Willow at the Bed and Breakfast where he and his injured girlfriend, Layla, are staying. He begins to fall for the ghost, which sets into motion a chain of thrilling events that reveal the truth about what happened to both Layla and Willow.
