MET GALA 2023 BEST DRESSED ✨

For the Fashion Enthusiast The Met Gala is FASHION’s biggest night! I love getting ready to check out all the looks on the First Monday of May!

I was particularly fond of this years theme. Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Celebrities, Stylist, Brands, had the opportunity to interpret the theme and come ready for a SHOW! For each of the outfits, it’s important to nail the theme. The idea was to honor Karl and everything or anything about him. The MET isn’t about showing up and looking good, it’s about tell a story through the outfit.

I ranked my best dressed in no particular order except for Rihanna (she was hands down best dressed and remains the MET QUEEN). For the men, I think DIDDY was best dressed!

Here’s what these celebrities did well to apply the theme:

Camellia Flower (rosettes) as seen on Rihanna & Cardi B is the flower of house Chanel. Karl was the creative director of House Chanel from 1983-2019 when he died!

Tweed: as seen on Anne Hathaway & Teyana Taylor was a nod to Chanel tweed fabric used to in all areas of the brand- handbags, clothing, shoes, accessories.

Pearls & Jewelry: as seen on Michaela & Kim. Karl had a huge affinity towards pearls and gaudy jewelry.

Tems & Florence headpiece were especially a significant nod because Karl & house Chanel did spectacularly something similar in 2004 to n the runway.

Doja came dressed as Karl’s beloved heir & cat, choupette. While Jessica was dressed literally as the female Karl. She absolutely looksed beautiful with the blond hair, slicked back and all black. I think Karl would have chuckled to see her. Cari B also had platinum hair and her dress had quilted details which referenced chanel quilted products.
