Weekend Getaway to Ipoh!

Hellooo!

We drove 6 hrs to Ipoh on National Day weekend and here is what we ate:

🍗 We set out to try the famous Sam Ma Chicken, but the queue was endless, so we settled for Weng Hwa Chicken Rice instead. The place was almost empty, but their food did not disappoint. The Chinese wine chicken with soft boiled eggs was absolutely delicious. And of course, we couldn't miss out on Ipoh's famously fat and juicy tau geh.

🍣 Next up was Dozo de Garden, a must-try Japanese spot. Their kimchi yaki soba was the best dish of the meal hands down. I've been craving kimchi ever since! Affordable and high quality!

🍵 We also visited Muzi Matcha, a cozy matcha cafe known for their signature strawberry-wrapped mochi. The texture was more like muah chee than typical Japanese mochi. They were super soft and chewy!! Their cheesecake was divine, and you can even smell the teas before ordering!

To top it off, our pomelo wholesaler led us to Sin Heng Fruit Shop for some top-notch durians. The staff helped us pick the best ones within our budget.

Ipoh is a food haven no matter where you go, just randomly step into a coffee shop and you’ll find a gem!
