3 tips for hanging string lights

string lights are an essential for outdoor living this summer! Here are three steps I take to make sure my string lights stay up all summer:

1. Hang them high! This keeps them out of the way of animals, kids, walking paths, etc. — no one wants to be constantly dodging the strings of lights.

2. Use zip ties! This is a must have hack. Zip ties are easy to use and super easy to remove. The perfect impermanent solution. I also love that they keep them from sliding around and keeps them secure.

3. This is a big one. I’ve tried glass bulbs and plastic bulbs and the plastic bulbs inevitable shatter as soon as you drop them (which might happen!) — try out the plastic bulbs and breathe easier!
