Rope Braid

Clean girl hairstyles have taken over and this is one of the easiest and most chic. We all remember the mini-rope braids mom would put in our hair as kindergarteners, and she didn’t know then how cool it would be now. 🫧🎀

To achieve this clean girl look, all you need is a couple of hair ties and some second day hair.

Start this style with a slick back high or mid ponytail. Ensure the ends of the hair are knot free and if you have curly hair, attempt this look after a straight or wavy hair day for best results. 🪮

Section the ponytail into two parts. ✌🏻 Try your best to keep the sections are even as possible both in length and amount of hair.

One at a time, twist each section in the same direction. 🔁 This part is what can be confusing when first trying this style but truly makes the braid stay all day. If you struggle with fly-aways 🛫 apply a hair mask or balm to the hair before twisting to lock in the twist. One of my favorites is the ColorWow Avocado hydration balm. 🧴

Once you have both sections tightly twist, twist those pieces together in the OPPOSITE direction as the original sections. 🔀 For example if my single twists were facing towards my head, the final twist would go away from my head. This keeps the rope from becoming one big twist. 🌪️

Secure the braid with a clear or colored elastic and enjoy your look! 🫶🏻🥰
