I started this journey back in December of 2022.

1. I completely changed my relationship with food. I used to eat out of boredom constantly through the day. I am a big snacker so chips were something I always had available. Another problem I had was that I LOVE to cook. So I was making really unhealthy high calorie meals all the time bc to be honest unhealthy food is just more fun to make ! Since then I very roughly follow the whole 30 diet. I try to use it as a reference of what I should and shouldn’t eat, which I did more at the beginning of my journey. Since then I’ve used all the material I’ve learned and tried to just make better choices and not restrict myself as much.

2. Intermittent fasting - This is so important for me bc like I said I am SUCH a snacker so that would be in the morning and at night. With fasting this cuts out my unnecessary late night snacking and causes me to wait and have an actual healthy meal at the start of my day. On a different note, I’m not an expert but I understand that fasting has a lot of health benefits so that’s a plus also!

3. Joining orange theory - as someone with not a whole lot of info on how to workout or how to balance cardio and weights or even what to do on a treadmill or with weights, this saved me! Orange theory helped me learn all my personal goals and how to grow from them. They use a heart rate monitor which helps you to push yourself harder during class and track calories burned of course. Another side note that helped me just as much as the first part is that if you don’t show up to a class you get a small fee. Which sounds intimidating I know but it’s great for staying consistent !! You have another reason to keep yourself going other than your own motivation which can waver at times. I pre schedule all my classes and I just know I have to show up so I do.

Obviously a weight loss journey is harder mentally than it seems when you just say it out loud, but honestly I would have never imagined it would have worked out for me. And when you finally figure out what works for you, it is such a fulfilling feeling! If anyone has any questions feel free to dm me.
