🐶 Puppy Crate Training 🐾

Crate training is really important for a puppy or any dog to be comfortable with!

Having your dog be comfortable being confined prepares them for situations like: going to the groomer, going to the vet, flights, storm evacuations and more.

There are all kinds of situations that your dog can go through that would cause them to have to be confined.

You can teach your dog to love their crate and find it as a place of safety and comfort!

Do small sessions with your dog/puppy don’t even shut the door yet! Toss treats in and out, and start teaching your puppy to stay in the crate without the door closed.

Once they have had fun with this game then we can start just touching the door, treating them, then closing the door and you’ll slowly build up duration your puppy is within the crate, and be sure to give them lots of yummy treats!

Be patient, if your puppy gets frustrated be sure to slow down and go back a step in the training! Be sure to go at your dogs pace and don’t overwhelm them, or else it can make for a bad time!

There are lots of tutorials out there on how to crate train your pup! It’s easier than you may think :)
