Here are a few ways I helped get labor kickstarted!

For reference my due date was June 12th, my baby was born June 10th.

Curb Walking: the unequal walking pattern created by the curb causes the pelvis to open up and allow baby’s head to descend. Baby’s head gets deeper into the pelvis causing more pressure into the pelvis, cervix. This causes dilation and effacement. Uneven walking on the curb should be done for 10 minutes!

Eating Dates: at about 36 weeks, eating dates can help with softening of the cervix and help labor duration! Studies show that women who consumed 6 dates a day for 4 weeks leading up to their due date had a significant higher mean cervical dilation upon admission compared to those who didn’t eat any dates!

Red Raspberry Leaf Tea: some studies show that this tea can help tone the uterus which can make labor contractions more efficient.

Ball exercises: these exercises such as bouncing on a ball in circles with your legs wide open allows your pelvis to remain open and engaged which is vital during labor when it comes to baby coming down and out!
