Five Books that got me

At the end of every year, I set goals and intention that I will (more like hope 😅) to accomplish in the new year! And can you guess what this year’s goals were??? Yup, to read more, but not just more! I set out to read TEN books in 2024, and to my surprise — only four months into the year — I hit and then exceeded my goal! 🎉👏🏾

As I reflect, it’s important to think about what prevented me from being the “Book Baddie” I always wanted to be… I wasn’t reading the right books!! Nothing ever stuck when I would try to pick up this novel or that one, but that all changed on January 1st, when I picked up River Sing Me Home! My life was instantly altered by this tragically beautiful story about a mother in pursuit of reconnecting with her stolen children, and from there I felt so entranced by the story that I needed more!

Not every book that I have picked up this year has made my 5 star list, but these 5 have set me on a path I’m so grateful to be embarking on… not only with these characters, but with myself!
