I wanted to share a thought that I had when I first started dating J. and how processing it brought me to the realization of how hanging on to one idea clouds your ability to take in the rest of the goodness in a relationship and fully appreciate your partner.

When you question your relationship, if you care to do so, try to compare your partners love to 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

If you can replace the word “Love” with the name of your person confidently, you’ve found a good one. I know I did.❤️
