SKIN CANCER AND BENZOYL PEROXIDE

You probably want to consider replacing some of your favorite benzoyl peroxide acne products from brands like Panoxyl. A testing laboratory just filed a petition with the FDA after finding high levels of benzene in a number of products. Benzene has been linked to a number of cancers, including skin.

It was also noted that benzoyl peroxide (BPO) breakdown into benzene is accelerated under hot temperatures. If you plan to continue to use products that contain BPO, you should be mindful of how you store them. Be sure they are being kept in an environment with a stable and cooler temperature.
