Things at my summer wedding that just made sense!

I always dreamed of a bright, colorful summer wedding and I’m pleased to say on July 13th I had the wedding of my dreams! Here’s some things I did that made the day so special.

1. My bridesmaids all made their own bouquets. We had so much fun getting together to make our bouquets. The girls loved it and we even used them as centerpieces for the bridal party table after the wedding!

2. I had a colorful veil. My veil was the inspiration behind everything. I knew from the beginning I wanted something different that would stand out. My veil did just that and I loved it.

3. We had a wooden sign for the guests to write on instead of a guest book. We knew a guest book would be shoved in a closet somewhere never to be looked at again. Instead we opted for something we can display!

4. We had mints as favors! We didn’t want to give out expensive (for us) favors that people would probably throw away. Instead we did mints that people could have after dinner!

5. We had a unity cross. Instead of doing candles or sand we did a unity cross since we’re both Christians and it’s very meaningful for us.

6. All my bridesmaids wore different color dresses they picked out! I gave my bridesmaids a color and they picked out a dress! They still showed me before buying it, but this allowed them to really express theirselves and find a dress they could wear again.

7. We had snowcones! This was one of my favorite things. Since our wedding was in July in Louisiana it was HOT!!!! Having a snowcone truck was the perfect addition to the day.

8. We had flower confetti! With the bright colors and wildflower theme of the wedding I knew dried flower confetti would be perfect and it was so beautiful! (And smelt good too)

9. I wore converse! My coworker hand embroidered a beautiful pair of converse with our initials and wedding date in the same colors as my veil! These were so beautiful and allowed me to feel comfortable all day.
