How to Achieve a Cat-like and Dog-like Appearance

Do you prefer cat-like faces or dog-like faces? In Korean culture, we like to compare our faces to various animals, such as cats and dogs, based on our facial features and the ratio between our eyes, nose, and mouth.

Cat-like faces have sharp features that make them look sexy and fierce, such as an upturned eye. Examples of Korean celebrities with cat-like faces include, but are not exclusive to, Jennie from BLACKPINK and Haerin from NewJeans.

Dog-like faces have soft features that make them look cute and innocent, such as a down-turned eye, and a rounder face. Examples of Korean celebrities with dog-like faces include, but are not exclusive to, Jisoo from BLACKPINK and Hanni from NewJeans.

(1)How to achieve a cat-like face:

Any eyeshadows used should be blended up towards your temples. Angle your eyeliner up, following the natural angle of your lower lash line. Extend your liner into the inner corner, emphasizing and sharpening the point.

(2)How to achieve a dog-like face:

Any eyeshadows used should be blended so that the eye looks round and soft. Angle your eyeliner down, following the natural angle of your upper lash line. Use a shimmer or glitter shadow on the inner half of your eyelid and under your lower lash line, highlighting your aegyosal, or under eye bag. Highlighting your aegyosal is common in Korean makeup trends because it gives your eyes a “cuter” look.
