Dumb expenses that prevent you from saving:

- Cigs and alcohol: these are bad for your health and are expensive and heavily taxes, cut back or quit both and if you are drinking alcohol - pregame at home as much as possible to avoid expensive bar drinks

- Expensive gym memberships: unless you are going to the gym multiple times each week, you may be better off with a cheaper gym membership or using your apartment/community gym

- Credit card interest: only buy what you currently have money to pay off to avoid monthly interest accruing - credit card interest is extremely expensive and honestly who wants to give hard earned money to the credit card companies?!
