I settled my Master’s study in 2 years ✨ #bye2023

Hi 🍋 friends, I just passed my viva voce examination in Master of Engineering Technology (Chemical Engineering). This is my biggest achievement in 2023, so I nak share my tips sebab I tahu it is not an easy journey 🌚

1. Make sure to settle your proposal defence, ideally in 3-6 months and submit a good thesis. Proposal defence normally sets the pace for the rest of your master’s journey. Kalau u buat awal and it got accepted, u can start your research experiment straightaway.

2. Publish papers and join conferences as much as possible. I berjaya publish 6 papers and attend 4 conferences sepanjang I buat master, which helped a lot during my viva voce exam. Part ni penting since it justifies that your research has academic importance 🔥

3. Plan your experimental research and do it early. Why? Sebab u tak tahu samada experiment u akan berjaya on one try, atau kena repeat. In my case, ada part yang I kena repeat experiment sebab procedure I salah. So I kena research another procedure and repeat the experiment which takes a lootttt of time 🥶

4. Start writing your thesis as soon as u dah ada experimental data and result. Thesis writing is very tiring and time consuming, lagi penat dari buat experiment 24/7 😵 so I suggest to start it slow and steady. Bila dah sampai part thesis writing, normally u have to include chapter 4 and 5 je dah sebab u dah ada chapter 1,2 and 3 from your proposal defence. But, make sure to update your ch1,2 and 3 to latest references ✌🏻

5. Submit notice of thesis submission, and start preparing for your viva voce examination. My tips? Focus on methodology and findings. At the same time u kena tahu fundamentals of your research. Viva voce examination is for u to justify and defend your research, so defend it like hell 🔥
