DO NOT VISIT Chichen Itza without knowing this!

Visiting Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the world, was on my bucket list for a long time! So when I visited this past February I was in absolute awe of its beauty! After visiting I learned a few things that are important to know before you go!⤵️

Book a Tour: Instead of going on your own I’d recommend going with a tour. The buses will bring you right to the entrance and you can skip the busy lines to get in! Plus when you book a tour they usually will give you a guided tour of the grounds! It’s a great way to learn more about the history!

Bring an Umbrella: But not for the rain, for the sun! Most of the grounds are in direct sunlight, so having an umbrella will protect you from the heat. If you book a tour they usually provide umbrellas!

More than a Pyramid: A lot people think Chichen Itza is just the one pyramid! Little do they know (myself included) it’s a massive plot of land with many different ruins. El Castillo is the main pyramid but there’s also the enormous ball court where ancient mayans used to compete, the temple of the warriors, and so much more!
