Magic Piece of Trash | Classroom Management

One of my favorite things about teaching kindergarten is that I can say, “wanna play a game?” and they are IN! Doesn’t matter what the game is, the buy-in is 👍🏻.

One of our favorites is “magic piece of trash.” It goes like this:

I look around the floor and pick out one piece of trash. I say “magic piece of trash” and they immediately start picking up trash. It’s even more fun when I don’t warn them it’s coming- just a surprise game 😂.

The student who picks up the magic piece of trash “wins”- I let them pick from the treasure box, but your prize can be whatever you want it to be.

They love it- just don’t tell them they’re cleaning the floors. That will be our little secret 🙊.
