Air Dry Clay Flower Display

This air dry clay flower display is super beginner friendly. I started by rolling out a chunk of clay, then forming it into a long tube shape.

I cut off each end so that it would be flat, then I formed it into an arch shape. I made sure that the ends were pressed flat so that it will be stable when it’s dry. I made a hole in the top for the flowers, and I used water and my fingertip to smooth out any cracks or bumps.

I let it dry for about 48 hours, and sanded down any bumps that I saw. I painted it with acrylic paint, I find that acrylic paint seems to be the best choice for air dry clay.

If you want it to last even longer and protect it more, you can add a coat of polyurethane as well. I added dried flowers and displayed it on my coffee table. It’s a fun and funky piece that anyone can make!
