Rule of Thirds is a trendy Greenpoint restaurant serving up modern Japanese flare.
While it’s a popular dinner spot, on weekends, they serve up brunch! Nothing beats a cheeky Sunday brunch, and my friend and I managed to snag a 2:30pm reservation.
Here’s the rundown of what we tried ⬇️⬇️⬇️
1️⃣Chicken Katsu Sandwich
📌This sandwich features panko fried chicken thigh with daikon, mustard, and mayo all on milk bread.
📌The chicken had a solid crunch and was nice and juicy, and I LOVED the milk bread. I wish there had been an added sauce or perhaps more mustard on the side to give it an elevated flavor layer given the $19 price tag.
2️⃣Kaarage
📌This app featured fried chicken with a ginger soy and tartar sauce
📌The chicken was delightfully crunchy with a lighter, more tempura like batter compared to the katsu. I also loved the ginger soy sauce!
💰Price:$17
3️⃣Japanese Souffle Pancake
✨The total star of the show!
📌It was outrageously fluffy with an angel food cake meets Dutch baby meets pancake vibe. The honey maple butter on top was delectable, and the sesame added a unique flavor that I loved.
📌You do have the option to add a scoop of ice cream—we didn’t spring for it, but I imagine it’d be stellar!
💰Price: $20
Pro Tip: Rule of Thirds is quite the trek to get to. Make a day of it and hit the thrift shops in Greenpoint!
