Cosplay breakdown - Goose edition

I made this costume to compete in the Masters of Cosplay Grand Prix at Megacon 2023, and here are some of my favorite features:

- over 20 hours spent individually gluing over 300 feathers to the wings (which I patterned myself)

- the wig is actually a 40” long synthetic wig and a feather wig that I cut, crimped, curled, and sewed together

- the feather peplum on the hip has detachable functional pockets that are loosely inspired by 18th century pocket pouches

- the flippers we’re pink flippers that were painted with orange fabric paint (I don’t recommend this. The parking lot destroyed it)

- the beak is a fabric mask that moves when I talk

A lot of this costume was “trust the process” for me, but I love how it turned out! Do you have any projects that seemed crazy until they were done?
